From One Request to a Specialized Sourcing Partner

In 1979, WG Provisions was asked to provide whole hearts from roasting pigs for a medical application. The request required more than finding a product—it required understanding anatomy, identifying the right animals, selecting specimens carefully and delivering them in a condition the customer could use.

That first order was small, but it revealed a larger opportunity. Biomedical companies needed a partner who understood both the standards of scientific and medical work and the realities of harvesting, packing and logistics. WG began building that bridge.

As customer programs expanded, so did the work. The team developed relationships with abattoirs, helped train source personnel, supported audits and translated detailed customer requirements into practical procedures at the plant level.

Today, WG Biomedical supports medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, research and education organizations with porcine and bovine tissues, organs and related biological materials. The products have changed and the network has grown, but the purpose remains the same: make specialized tissue sourcing more dependable, more coordinated and easier for everyone involved.

Our work supports programs that can ultimately improve treatment, research, training and quality of life. That responsibility continues to shape how we communicate, solve problems and care for every relationship.

The Standard Has Always Been Personal

From the first hand-selected shipment to today’s more complex programs, WG Biomedical has stayed closely involved in the details. We believe dependable sourcing is built through preparation, accountability and relationships—not transactions alone.
